Vol.3 — Built to Live With Time

On a sweatshirt made in Wakayama, and what it means to live with it.

Architecture does not end at completion.

Only when light enters, seasons shift, and people inhabit it does a building become whole.

Clothing, too, must live through time.

Clothing That Begins When Lived In

Each time you put your arms through the sleeves, a small familiarity grows. The fabric softens further. The shape remains. The garment begins to carry your rhythm.

This is not clothing for occasion. It is clothing for living.

Made in Wakayama, Across Three Generations

The kitt sweatshirt, made in Wakayama using the accumulated knowledge of three generations of knitters, is not designed to impress. It is designed to endure.

The machines themselves are old, but what matters is how they have been tuned and maintained over decades. What emerges is a material that holds warmth without weight, softness without fragility.

From Kyoto, to the World

Inside this century-old kanban-kenchiku building along what was once the approach to Shimogamo Shrine, I created a space of quiet restraint. The exterior remains as it was — a witness to a five-way intersection for over a hundred years. The interior was carefully renewed to slow time down.

From here, we share what we believe in — directly, in the shop, and outward to those who may never visit Kyoto.

A Garment That Settles Into Your Life

What we offer is simple.

A garment that settles into your life. A fabric that grows softer without losing strength. A tool that becomes part of your daily structure.

From Wakayama, these garments will continue to be crafted across generations — and from Kyoto, we will continue sharing them with those who value living with time.

Like architecture, they are not finished when purchased.

They begin when lived in.
