Shipping & Duties

Q1. Where do you ship from?
All orders are carefully packed and shipped directly from SMOKE, our physical concept store located in Kyoto, Japan.

Q2. Do you ship internationally?
Yes. We currently ship to the following regions:

Japan (Domestic)

USA & Mexico

Europe (17 Countries): Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland.

Oceania: Australia, New Zealand

Singapore

HongKong

Taiwan

South Korea

Q3. Are duties and taxes included in the price?
It depends on your shipping destination:

Japan:
提示料金には、消費税が含まれています。
All duties and taxes are included (DDP).
The price you see at checkout is the final price — no additional fees will be charged upon delivery.

EU, USA & Mexico:
All duties and taxes are included (DDP).

Singapore:
Duties and taxes are not included (DAP) and are the responsibility of the customer. Approx. 9% GST will apply upon delivery.

Oceania (Australia & New Zealand): Duties, GST, and clearance fees are not included (DAP) and are the responsibility of the customer. These charges may be collected by the carrier or local customs authorities upon delivery.

Hong Kong: Hong Kong is a free port, so there are generally no duties on imported goods. However, please note that any potential local handling or clearance fees remain the responsibility of the customer.

Taiwan & South Korea:Duties and taxes are not included (DAP) and are 
the responsibility of the customer. These charges may be collected by the carrier or local customs authorities upon delivery.

Q4. What are the shipping rates?

＊Shipping rates are subject to change due to carrier surcharges and fuel adjustments. The final shipping cost will always be confirmed at checkout. 

  • Japan: FREE on all orders
  • USA & Mexico: Flat $65 USD | FREE over $350 USD (DDP)
  • Europe: Flat €50 | FREE over €300 (DDP)
  • Australia: Flat $40 AUD | FREE over $250 AUD (DAP)
  • New Zealand: Flat $45 NZD | FREE over $300 NZD (DAP)
  • Singapore: Flat $30 SGD | FREE over $300 SGD (DAP)
  • Hong Kong: Flat $150 HKD | FREE over $1,650 HKD (DAP)
  • Taiwan: Flat NT$500 | FREE over NT$7,500 (DAP)
  • Korea: Flat ₩20,000 | FREE over ₩250,000 (DAP)

DDP: All duties & taxes included. No additional charges on delivery. 

DAP: Import duties & taxes may apply upon delivery and are the responsibility of the customer.

Q5. How long does shipping take?

We prioritize safe and efficient delivery by selecting the most reliable carrier for each destination. Please note that we may occasionally switch carriers to ensure the most reliable service based on current conditions, customs logistics, or seasonal demand.

Estimated Shipping Times:

  • Japan: 2–5 business days (via Japan Post or Sagawa)
  • USA & Mexico: 5–8 business days (via FedEx, DDP)
  • Europe: 3–5 business days (via DHL, DDP)
  • Singapore: 3–6 business days (via EMS, DAP)
  • Australia & New Zealand: 5–8 business days (via EMS, DAP)
  • Hong Kong, Taiwan & Korea: 3–6 business days (via EMS, DAP)

Note:

  • Please be aware that these shipping times are estimates and may vary due to customs inspections, carrier delays, or peak holiday seasons.
  • If you place an order while our store is closed, orders will be shipped in sequence upon resumption of operations. Please check our online store's announcement banner for the latest holiday schedule.

Products & Sizing

Q6. How does sizing run?
Our products follow Japanese sizing, which may run slightly smaller than US or EU standards. Please refer to the Size Guide on each product page. We recommend comparing our flat-lay measurements with a garment you already own.

Q7. What is the relationship between SMOKE and kitt?
SMOKE is our concept store in Kyoto, curating exceptional Japanese products that embody quality and timeless design.
kitt is a premium sweatwear brand exclusively selected by SMOKE. Each piece is crafted in Wakayama, Japan, using specialized knitting machines that create a uniquely soft, breathable, and durable fabric that becomes even more comfortable over time.

Returns & Refunds

Q8. Do you accept returns?
Yes. Returns are accepted within 14 days of delivery. Items must be in original, unwashed, and unworn condition with all tags attached.

Return Shipping:
For detailed information about return shipping costs and policies, please refer to our Shipping Policy.

Non-Refundable Costs:
The following costs are non-refundable, as they are paid to third parties at the time of shipment and cannot be recovered:

  • Original shipping fee (international orders)
  • Payment processing fees (approx. 6–8% of the total)
  • Import duties & VAT for DDP shipments (EU, USA, Singapore)

Q9. What currency will I be charged in?
Prices are displayed in your local currency (JPY, EUR, USD, AUD, or SGD) depending on your region. Your final payment will be processed in the currency shown at checkout.

About SMOKE

Q11. Do you have a physical store?
Yes. SMOKE is a real, physical boutique located in Shimogamo, Kyoto, Japan.

Our shop is housed in a beautifully renovated wooden townhouse originally built in the Taishō era (early 1900s). Blending traditional Japanese architecture with a modern sensibility, the space reflects the same values we seek in the products we curate — timeless design, quiet craftsmanship, and everyday comfort.

We welcome visitors who wish to experience our selection in person when traveling to Kyoto.
